Steve was born in Vancouver and travelled all over for his surgical training including Canada, Australia and USA. He settled in Halifax about 30 years ago. As a youngster, he fell in love with birds, and took an interest in bird photography and bird welfare. His neighbors would bring him injured and sick birds for him to take care of. Bird photography is still a big passion but the birding community and outdoor activities are equally important aspects of birding. “Never met a birder I didn’t like!” Steve recently retired from surgery and he and his wife Kay spend most of their time on the south shore on Second Peninsula and enjoy frequent birding outings.
